Our living history museums, Fort Henry (Kingston, Ontario) and Upper Canada Village (Morrisburg, Ontario), offer immersive experiences that bring the past to life. Students can explore authentic 19th-century buildings, participate in interactive demonstrations, and engage with costumed interpreters, experiencing the sights, sounds, and stories of a bygone era.

Our sites offer a variety of educational programs suitable for all grade levels, with flexible dates from April to November. This allows teachers to plan visits that align seamlessly with their curriculum, creating hands-on learning opportunities that enrich classroom lessons.

Organizing a group visit lets you experience Fort Henry like never before. Through guided and self-guided explorations, your group will be immersed in the life of the 1860s garrison, making history engaging, educational, and unforgettable for all ages.

Kingston Pen Tours

Explore Canada's oldest maximum-security prison, Kingston Penitentiary. Closed in 2013 and designated as a National Historic Site, it is a remarkable historical building, predating Canada's confederation in 1867. Our captivating guided tours offer a unique blend of education and entertainment, making it the perfect destination for School Groups, and Youth Groups.

Teacher Access Pass

This no-charge general admission pass grants certified teachers, principals and vice-principals exclusive access to Upper Canada Village and Fort Henry to help plan future visits for their students. 

Teachers with a valid Teachers Identification Card (Ontario & Quebec) and photo ID can apply for a Teacher Access Pass which offers unlimited admittance to:

  • Upper Canada Village regular day programming (May to September 2025).
  • Battle of Crysler’s Farm.
  • Fort Henry regular day programming (May to September 2025).
