Project Overview

The St. Lawrence Parks Commission, in partnership with the Friends of Crysler’s Farm Battlefield Committee (FCFBC), began, Spring 2025, a collaborative restoration project at the Crysler’s Farm Memorial, a designated National Historic Site of Canada. Historical Background

The Battle of Crysler's Farm, fought on November 11, 1813, was a decisive engagement during the War of 1812. Where British and Canadian forces along with Mohawk warriors from Akwesasne, significantly outnumbered, successfully repelled an American invasion aimed at capturing Montreal. The battle took place on the farm of John Crysler, a Loyalist and captain in the Dundas County Militia. This victory was pivotal in thwarting the American campaign and is commemorated at the Crysler's Farm Memorial, located near Morrisburg, Ontario.
